In mid-February, the Ministry of Ecological Transition informed us of our registration in the Carbon Footprint, offsetting and carbon dioxide absorption projects of the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC).
For the registration, which means obtaining the "Calculo" seal, we presented last year 2023 a plan to improve and reduce our carbon footprint, with ambitious targets to reduce it. This reduction plan is part of our current Sustainability Master Plan 2022-2025.
Measures already taken or soon to be implemented to reduce our footprint include the following:
- Installation of photovoltaic solar panels at our headquarters, already in operation, from which we obtain up to 30% of the electricity consumed.
- Renewal of the car fleet (most of them are already hybrid or electric).
- Contracting of electricity supply from 100% certified renewable energy (in process).
Our headquarters, which opened in 2021, was built with productivity, human well-being, energy savings and low environmental impact in mind.
This "Calculo" seal, awarded by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, now joins other environmental recognitions, such as the ZERO TO Dump seal from Saica Natur and TÜV SÜD, which we obtained for the first time in 2022 and renewed in 2023.
Aware of the need to continue decarbonising economic and industrial activity, we are committed to a business model based on reducing consumption and emissions.
