More sustainable packaging for pallet wrapping
To achieve this, our packaging services are aligned with the circular economy and are low in carbon output.
Circular economy
In fact, circular economy is one of our hallmarks and this circularity is present in all our processes, products and services.
Circular management is centred on these pillars:
- Encouraging the use of sustainable materials.
- Minimising the production of waste.
- Recovering resources, especially raw materials.
- Revaluation of the life cycle of raw and auxiliary materials.
- Innovation of products and services based on eco-design.
- Increasing the efficiency of our production processes.
These circular criteria are applied transversally and in accordance with the 3Rs of the system: reduce, recycle and reuse.
Reduce
The responsible consumption and operational efficiency are two axes that are applied both internally and in the design and development of our products and services.
However, the greatest impact on reducing consumption is generated through our pallet wrapping services. And it is efficiency that our customers value the most, as it allows us to:
- Improve the wrapping quality.
- Reduce waste and shrinkage of film.
- Reducing more than 60,000 TN of film used by our customers.
- Reduce by 85% the consumption of kilos of reel board.
- Reduce the micronage of stretch films.
- Increse the metres of film per reel.
- Increse control of wrapping productivity through digitalisation and a maintenance plan with remote assistance, reducing breakdowns and downtime.
In addition, thanks to this remote monitoring system and predictive technology, we can better plan our technical visits. This means less commuting, less fuel consumption and lower emissions.
Recycle
The recycling is an essential element in our management, being present both in the company's own business activities and in the provision of services.
Our waste management is responsible and efficient, facilitating the revaluation of waste and extending its useful life. Proof of this is the certification awarded by Saica Natur "Zero to Landfill", which means that only 5% of waste ends up in landfill, making us the first Spanish company in the sector to have this certification.
The innovations in terms of our services are oriented towards eco-design: in fact, some parts of our pallet wrappers are built with recycled materials. This allows us to have high-performance wrappers in a more sustainable way.
On the other hand, we have low micron and 100% recyclable films, and Ecofilms, a range of highly resistant and stretchable films s with different percentages (30%, 40%, 51%) of recycled raw material PCR (post-consumer recycled). A product that is not only efficient and more sustainable, but also saves costs for customers, as it is partially exempt from plastics tax.

Reuse
In fact, reuse is the key to our Sie+ service, thanks to which, we provide our customers with robust and compact pallet wrapping machines which, thanks to the use of top-quality materials and constant innovation and optimisation, extend their service life.
In addition, we remove obsolete wrapping machines from the market that produce more waste and shrinkage. And those that can still be productive are recovered through refurbishment and appropriate maintenance plans, while maintaining high productivity.
Carbon production
Along with the circular economy, for us it is essential decarbonise economic activity. All the aforementioned actions allow us to develop and offer sustainable and low-carbon pallet wrapping services and we have managed to reduce our carbon footprint by more than 110,000 tonnes of CO2 in the last decades.
New plastics tax: we advise our customers
Our packaging services include free advice to our customers on the plastics tax, in force in Spain from 1 January 2023, and on the new additional regulations that already apply to the packaging sector (Royal Decree on packaging, etc.).
In essence, thanks to a differential business approach based on sustainability and efficiency, we also help our customers to be more efficient and sustainable at their end of line.
